As a child, I grew up watching my mother bake what I had known as her famous butter cookies. Everyone I had known was enticed by the words butter cookies, but never realized what it was that was so intriguing about the cookies. It wasn’t just the word or the decadent taste once biting into one of her cookies that kept people coming back but they saw that she was doing something she loved while passing down a tradition. D’s Gourmet Butter Cookies now known as Donna Faye’s Bakery was a business that my mom started prior to her passing from a heart attack in 2011. Many questions were raised about her business and who would continue where she left off. The tradition and legacy she poured into the business evolved into my passion. Through this business, I am honoring her love of baking for even more generations to come.
